Safe and Well
What does it mean to be safe and well? Spending comfortable time with my family. Reading with a child.
Progress on Safe and Well
I have committed a year to a series I call Safe and Well. So far, I'm on track. This month I share two figurative pieces, each sure to lower your blood pressure.
Smart Editing
Keep the good bits and descard the rest: That's the goal in all creative work.
September in the Studio
Above is the small mock up version of "Long View". I have been working on the large version that, when complete, and remodeling to the building is done, will hang in the State Hospital in Evanston, Wyoming.
Adventure Abroad
In June I traveled overseas, and for twenty-five days was away from the safety and boring routines of home. The countries visited were Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary (cities - Zurich, Prague, Olomouc, Bratislava, Vienna, and Budapest). I was with my traveling cousin and the Gillette Chamber Singers.

Cat Fights and Tornados

Seasons of Life
There are a bunch of seasons of life- family related- young to old- with and without pets, that ARE the subject of my artwork.
Everyone is happy
As an artist, we love it when the client gives us a lot of freedom to make any changes that will improve the work as a piece of art. The client wants a keepsake and the artist wants to create quality artwork. When both happen then everyone is happy.
Inspiration from Photos
I am often inspired to create art quilts based on my own candid photos. Here are some examples of pieces that started out this way. I am drawn to photos that have good composition and strong contrast of light and dark.
